Discovering Kubrickism is a research project that Catriona McAvoy began in 2009 as part of a Masters degree at the University of the Arts London. It has since developed, the research has continued and it now encompasses many different projects related to Stanley Kubrick’s films and working methods.

The projects are ongoing and the research is presented as conference papers, book chapters and journal articles. This site is an archive for these projects and will continue to be updated as new material is added and works are published.

The overall aim is to explore information from many different sources and to present a new perspective on the films and working methods of Stanley Kubrick.

The Stanley Kubrick Archive, University of the Arts, London, UK is the main source for much of the primary research. Other sources include The Diane Johnson Archive, Harry Ransom Centre, Austin, Texas and interviews with Stanley Kubrick’s family, colleagues and experts.
